Week 1
Personal Assessment
Your steward meets your parent personally, in person or one-to-one via video, to understand how technology fits into their real life. We explore:
- the devices they actually use
- what they enjoy and what they avoid
- moments that create stress, embarrassment, or confusion
- exposure to scams or risky defaults
- the situations that currently pull you into the loop
This is a calm, conversational assessment. No testing. No judgement. No rushing.
Outcome: a clear, human understanding of where problems and risks are being created.
Week 2
Simplification and Safety
Based on the assessment, we design a simpler, safer setup around your parent, not around theory. This may include:
- simplifying access and logins to suit their comfort level
- removing unnecessary apps, noise, and notifications
- clarifying how everyday tasks are handled
- reducing "one wrong tap" moments
- introducing practical protections against common scams
All changes are explained directly to your parent, in plain language, at their pace.
Outcome: technology that feels quieter, clearer, and easier to live with.
Week 3
One-to-One Confidence Building
Your parent works one-to-one with the same steward in each session. No group classes. No shared attention. No being made to feel slow or behind. We focus on what genuinely matters to them, staying in touch, everyday tasks, and using the few tools that support their lifestyle.
Patience is built in. No sighs, no eye-rolling, no "you should know this by now."
Outcome: confidence grows, and everyday questions become easier for them to handle independently.
Week 4
Family Handoff and Future-Proofing
In the final week, attention shifts back to the family. You receive:
- a clear overview of what's now in place
- what has changed and why
- what no longer requires your involvement
- guidance for future changes or upgrades
We ensure your parent understands their setup clearly, and that support no longer automatically falls to you.
Outcome: a calmer, more sustainable pattern for the family.
